Apple (Mac) Mail Setup
Before starting make sure that you have the following. If you don't have everything, contact technical support for any missing information:
- Email Address to add
- Username(your full email address)
- Password (it is case sensitive!)
- Incoming mail PORT (IMAP 993 with SSL (preferred) or POP 995 with SSL)
- Outgoing mail PORT (587 with TLS)
Let's get started by opening Apple Mail.
- Click Mail then click on Preferences
2. Select Accounts, then click the + to add a new account.
- Under Add Account: In the Full Name box, enter the name you want users to see when you send email from this account. In the E-mail Address box, enter your Full Email Address.
In the Password box, enter your password, then click Continue
- Incoming Mail Server:
In the Account Type box, select IMAP.
In the Description box, enter FRII or whatever you would like.
In the Incoming Mail Server box, enter mail.frii.com
In the User Name box, enter your Full Email Address.
In the Password box, enter your password, then click Continue.
*If you are prompted for an Incoming Server Port you will use 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP (change Account Type to POP if using this method)
- Incoming Mail Security:
Make sure Use Secure Socket Layer is Check Marked In the Authentication box. Select Password, then click Continue
- Outgoing Mail Server:
In the Description box, enter FRII or whatever you would like.
In the Outgoing Mail Server box, enter mail.frii.com
Put a Check in the box for Use Authentication
In the User Name box, enter your Full Email Address.
In the Password box, enter your password, then click Continue.
*If you are prompted for an Outgoing Server Port you will use 587
- Outgoing Mail Security:
DO NOT put a Check in the box for Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
In the Authentication box as it will be using TLS, select Password, then click Continue
- Account Summary:
Verify that all settings are correct, and then click Create
- Accounts:
From here you can close the Accounts window by clicking the Red Circle and you should be all set to go! It may take some time to download all emails (depends on how many emails you have in your inbox)
